I've an effie '54 here in London and demisting is a problem. Is it just seals, or is the system useless anyway and an air con system the only answer? 2.) Anyone know where I can get round convex mirror replacements for my door mirrors? I can mail order them if you know the place. Many thanks, PY. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 18:45:01 EST From: AMorgan351 Subject: Re: FTE Pre61 - anti rattlers I recently rebuilt the doors on my 57 as well. The insert for the top and rear was totally shot so I bought the replacement kit. I did encounter a problem with the kit from Johns F-100s. The insert fits into a guide bracket that screws to the end panel of the door by the jam. There was a stop on the insert that fit into the bracket that was set 1/4" to low, making it impossible to fit the insert into the door. I fixed it by filing the guide bracket to give the insert a little slack. As far as the division bar goes, the guy at the upholstery shop sold me a bit of heavy felt to glue in the channel. It's not riveted but it's not going anywhere and it cost a bunch less than new division bars and looks just fine. If you go that route, leave extra felt outside the channel when you glue it and then trim with a very sharp shop knife after the glue sets. Thanks!!!! == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 21:52:29 EST From: PWPTRUCK1 Subject: FTE Pre61 - F-3 fender extensions and repair panels Does anybody know if fender rapair patches are availible for the '52 F-3? I have seen them for the F-1 in several parts supplier catalogs, but not for the F-2 on up. I would also like to find the lower front fender extensions too. Mine are in bad shape. I have a '48 F-3 that is in mint condition, that I'm converting to a 1/2 ton street rod. He said that the fenders were the same and would bolt right up, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll be doing the mods next weekend. I'll post my findings. PWPTRUCK1 > > Does anybody know if fender rapair patches are availible for the '52 F-3? Funny. Hi All, Ray C here. Funny story about my new truck. I had been looking at a 48 F-6 Rescue Personnel Carrier (looks like a giant panel truck). I was anxious during a 2-week delay trying to gain approval from my wife to adopt the $2500 truck. The truck was so different I was sure I would never see another like it. I got tired of waiting for her to come around so yesterday I finally went to the seller feeling indignant, with cash in my hand. He said "I'm sorry but I sold the truck 2 weeks ago. I was bumming. I was also mad at my wife for making me lose the truck. I knew it would not last long before someone else bought it. Well... today is my birthday and the truck is in my driveway. My WIFE was the one who BOUGHT THE TRUCK FOR ME :) The truck is way cool! 2,053 orig miles and very unique. I'll send images to Ken for hopeful addition to site.
