I put a heavy-duty voltage drop on the circuit for the heater blower, which I purchased from J.C. Whitney. I regret I can't tell you for certain how well it works yet, since my truck's engine is scattered all over my workbench, making it REALLy hard to drive right now. - -- Don Neighbors '54 F250 Named Grover "Any dropped tool or part will automatically fall into the most innaccesible part of the vehicle." grover == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Jan 1999 11:38:50 PST From: "Andy Vandergrift" Subject: FTE Pre61 - Re: YBlock and Tranny suggestions Well, I am going to be on my way to rebuild the YBlock - it's a good engine anyways. BUT - what would you suggest for a tranny? It has the original BorgW 2 speed automatic. I could put in a three speed but I am not interested in cutting up the floor and getting a clutch assy. Any ideas????? This is my daily driver. ______________________________________________________ == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Jan 1999 22:22:33 -0800 (PST) From: David Stokes Subject: FTE Pre61 - rear ends I have seen a quite of few postings regarding rear ends. I also have the dilema. The guy I bought my 56 from put a Ch*** rear end on the truck and I would like to replace it with a 9 inch. Can anybody out there provide a list of models and years that had 9 inch rear ends that will bolt right up. I also understand that there are several cars that also had these types of rear ends. If this is true please provide a list of those cars and years also. This list would be of great help in the salvage yard. Thanks for the list and Keep up the good work Technically challenged 56 == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of pre61-list-digest V3 #20 ******************************* +- Ford Truck Enthusiasts - 1948 - 1960 Trucks and vans --------------+ | Send posts to pre61-list To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
