Hi All

been getting the digest for the last couple weeks & this is my first post
live in Cambridge Ontario which is 2 hours north of Detroit & 1 hour west of
Toronto
presently are doing basically stock 49 & 56 Mercury pickups - my Father has
a 51 F600 fire truck that still has original tires on it

Scott was looking for the Toronto based F-100 club - the mailing address for
Southern Ontario Classic Pickups is in Oshawa which is just east of Toronto
but there are members all over the place - I've been a member for years and
are really good guys - club events and newsletter are first rate - try

'56 Questions -
- - who would have parking brake cables for a long box
- - need cab corners & a drivers side floor pan - was told that some companies
fit great & others don't - any suggestions
- - my master cylinder is toast & want to put on a more modern one so that I
can isolate the front & rear brakes - heard that mustang & vette master
cylinders work OK under the floor - any ideas as to what works & how to make
or where to buy the required brackets
- - the side door glass, tracks etc need replacing - saw a truck with one
piece side glass (no vent windows) & it looked really clean - has anyone
done this
- - where can I get custom cab front windshield rubber moulding with the
chrome
- - the 223 cid 6 doesn't run well when it is cold so was thinking of putting
one of the pointless electronic ignitions in that fit in the distributor -
they are supposed to give a hotter spark but don't know anyone that has one
- - want to rewire both trucks after I switch the 49 to 12 volts - whose
panels & harnesses work well
- - want to paint the frame to clean it up but don't want to totally strip it
& blast it - has been some postings from people using Eastwood corroseal &
Por15 - the instructions say blasting is not necessary but don't know how
realistic this is
- - how do you fix a weak hood hinge

Subject: FTE Pre61 - carb. adjustment 1958 ford

I have a 1951 F 1 with a 1958 (223) 6 cy. flathead. The manual states there
are two adjusting screws, I only find one. I have backed it out one full
turn. Any suggestions?
