It should 5 x 5 1/2. The earlier truck wheels should fit. Alot to chose from if

Paul: It isn't really too expensive (at least here) to have a
sheetmetal fabrication shop make a box for your bed if you take them the
measurements. Or you could make one yourself out of wood.

Subject: FTE Pre61 - Tool box

I asked this a long time ago, but:

Does anyone know of a truck toolbox which will mount in my 55 bed
(approx.49")?
I am referring to the style which sits up on the sides of the bed like a
"regular" truck box, and not just a cube shaped box to set in the bed.
I have looked around a lot, but have never run across one...all are too
wide by at least a few inches.

My 57 had 5 1/2" on 5 bolt diameter. I'm sure Ford used that at least until
60, but I don't know how long past. I have the 9" rear out of my truck if
anybody is interested.

Boo,

What do you need? There is not much available and watch out at the junk yards
- -- not all body parts from the 57 & 58's match up with the 59 & 60's. I found
out the hard way.

I've found an aftermarket tailgate for my truck (57 F-100) but i
have ran into the problem of it being for a stepside pickup instead of a
styleside. Does anyone know if it will work or atleast tell me why it wont?

Subject: FTE Pre61 - Higher on 1 Side

I've recently replaced the rear springs on my 50 F1 and noticed that the
right side is now about an inch higher than the left. The tires have equal
air pressure, there's nothing in the bed, and the front of the truck is
even. About all I can figure is that one of my new springs is springier
than the other one. Is anyone able to shed some light on this?
