I had a 289 mated to a 4spd crashbox in a 52, and I still have the aluminum
flywheel and bellhousing adapter. I think I had the 289 and adapter with the
original 3spd first, then the 4 speed.

Subject: FTE Pre61 - FAQ for pre61 trucks?

Hi!

I have only subscribed on the digist-list for 5days now but I have
already got a lot of good info about various stuff... :-)

But, I do miss a FAQ for Ford Pickup 1948-1960. Surely, someone must
have been on this list a while now and could start writing a FAQ for it?

I did write one for the motorcycle: Yamaha FJ 1100 & 1200, se this
page for that FAQ: http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/1039/

Thanks
//Patrik in Sweden
I don't own a truck otherwise I could have start writing it myself.

Even though this is our Ford Truck site, I know we all love Classics of
any kind. I read that Ford is bringing back the 50's T-Bird in about 18
months. I have searched all over the place and found one article that
states it is going to be a V8 two seater. Anyone know of any pictures
out there of this new bird?

I called Babson and they said that they didn't have this truck.

Is there someone in particular that I need to talk to.

Ethan

Ethan
I checked on the front fenders off of the 56 F-600 today. They are in
real good shape from what I saw. They might need some work where they
bolt to the radiator air side deflectors. I did not get to look at that
too well because I got called to a fire. (I'm a volunteer fire fighter)
The Junk yard that has them is Babson Auto Salvage in Burgaw North
Carolina (910)259-4678. If they will not send them to you let me know
and I will see what I can do. (If you want them)

Mel,
The Detroit Free Press has a small photo of their concept car that is now
at the Detroit Auto Show.. It looks like a cross between the T-bird and a
late model Mustang? The only thing that looks like a'55 is the port hole on
the side of the roof. It appears to be a two seater.

I have just completed the installation of a Toyota Power Steering
conversion in my '53 F-100 using the stock column and steering wheel.
I need some advise on how to hook up the stock horn button. The Toyota
Steering box does not have a through hole in it like the stock Ford
steering box and I do not know how to run the horn wire. Can anyone
offer me any suggetions.

Thanks,

It's there I was just there a couple of days ago. If your facing there
office from the road it's on the right side. It's big, blue, missing
the drivers side door, has 2 I beams welded to it right behind the cab
(they are as tall as the cab), and it's a 56 F-600 (no motor or tranny,
I have those because it's a factory 4v, 4 speed). I'll run by there
this weekend and talk to Bo (if I remember right he is the one that
picked it up), can't do it till then because I'm in safety school (for
my job) all week. Also I know where there is a 53 F-500 complete
including the flathead V8. It is a old pumper firetruck. I can see if
it is still there if you want(sure it is because the old man don't sell
to many cars any more, he is out of the business but still sells what he
has just not advertize as a junk yard. That and not to many people knows
he has it).
