Fellow Ford Owners,

Just a note to let you know about a place on the WEB that has repro
brake lines and other accessories.

www.inlinetube.com/

I had some trouble finding the rear brake lines, wire wrapped with
cotton insulation like the original. A fellow restorer gave me this
address, just thought I'd share it with the group if you're interested.

A strong word of caution. I didn't use this company, but I have
had no luck with these type places. I waited forever for a set for
my 54, took 2 months, and they were wrong. Took another 2 months
to get my money back. I bent my own, it turned out very nice. I
used 18ga. wire for the gravel gaurds. and sprayed them with clear
before I put them on.

If you bend your own, bulk wire (25') was $17.00, 18ga. wire $1.79
can of clear $2.00, tubing cutter $10.00, flare tool $25.00 (you
can get them cheaper, but they won't work), and a dbl flare set $17.00
Takes longer, but alot less frustration and less money.

If you use inlinetube, let us know the results.

Subject: FTE Pre61 - truck cab references

I am looking to buy a truck cab and some fenders from Glenn Marion, an
advertiser in Hemmings Motor News. If anyone has ever purchased a cab from him
before, please let me know on what kind of shape the parts were when you got
them. I am basically wanting some references from his customers as to the
quality of his products and service.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul - I didn't buy a cab from Glenn, but bought a NOS seat, front bumper,
grill assembly and some odds and ends for my '54 F100 from him. I was very
pleased with what I got, and thought his prices were pretty fair.

Howard, did your engine come with a two, or four barrel carb? I checked my 56
manual and the four barrel was an optional carb on the big engines, can't lay
my hands on my 55 manual tonight to check it. Our 56 F-600 has the stock carb
on it and it is a what I call a dome Holley. It is a two barrel with a dome
looking top on it the manual calls it a duel concentrik carb. for what ever
good that does.
