Ran into an old timer the other day who's got a '50 F1. He swears an '85 or
so Ranger has the exact same wheelbase and track. He's going to bolt the
'50 body onto the Ranger and have a daily driver. Anyone out there done
this? Those rangers are cheap and easy to come by. Would anyone recommend
this swap??

Thanks in advance.

Guys,

Me and Soapy have a nasty virus (in the computer!) that has slowed my work and
comunications. I hope to be back online shortly (maybe minus AOL!) and keep
getting the great help from you pros.

I am still trying to get the rear mounted in my 57. Hopefully after cleaning
up my computer, I can get that done.

Hope to "see" ya soon.

I need to pull my rear brake drums off on my 39. Can anyone tell me if
there's a secret handshake to it, or do you just have to pound hard.

A buddy of mine that builds hot rods advised me to use an old connecting
rod! You'll have to scout around to find the correct size but it might
look COOL! - Mick

I just bought my 51 EFFIE and am in the process of taking it down to the
frame on the way I discovered I am going to need some parts.
1. Radio in good shape (appearance wise) Does not have to work.
2. Right hand wing vent. Frame only or frame and glass.
3. And lastly a turn signal setup mine doesn't have one.
Any help or suggestions would appreciated.
I'm sure I'll find more stuff I need ,and will be looking for help.

David, my experience with the FMX has been with one of the earlier
versions of it, but I can certainly tell you I have never had any
trouble out of it. It is a very smooth tranny, and the one I have is
currently living behind a 390, and definitely has no trouble with
handling the torque of an FE eingine.
The FMX has a removable aluminum bell housing, a cast iron case, and I
think most, but not all of them, have an aluminum tailshaft housing.
Even with all the aluminum, they are HEAVY!!! They are harder to rebuild
than the C4 or C6, but will take a lot of abuse. If you have one of
those behind a 351C, I am envious!
