I haven't done it yet, but not because I ignored the request I will get it one way or another, unless there is no longer any need for it. - -- Don Neighbors '54 F250 Named Grover "Any dropped tool or part will automatically fall into the most innaccesible part of the vehicle." grover == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Sep 1998 17:25:56 -0400 From: Paul Subject: FTE Pre61 - plastic headliners My son bought a plastic headliner for his 56 pickup. It comes in three pieces, with the normal installation info (none). I tried for a while to install it, but didn't succeed, partly to my temper and partly to the 20 degrees over normal temperatures here in Va. Question: Is there a correct sequence to install this bear? Due to the overlap where the pieces meet, this is more difficult than it seems. Thanks, Paul Gayda == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Sep 1998 21:40:19 -0400 From: William Casady Subject: FTE Pre61 - Wiper motor I'm looking for a 12 volt windshield wiper motor for my 1954 F250. I haven't been able to get thru--does anyone > have the correct URL? The correct URL is www.f100.com. If you haven't used John's before, I have. About three years ago I ordered about $2000 worth of new parts. Most came right away and in great shape. I did have a problem with back orders. In one case the rear bumper did not arrive until 1 3/4 years later, and only after several phone calls. I was not in a hurry, my truck was not done yet. On the good side, because I made such a large order, they did not charge for shipping... not bad! Check to see if they have your parts in stock. Otherwise I would shop around. I also used Sacramento Vintage. I like them. They were very helpful with advice in my restoration. Also had great service. One more tip for anyone reading. I would never buy a used part from anyone including Pro's without seeing it first. I was burned big time. And they assured my they were in great shape. Not even....My parts were better than theirs, but shipping them back was too expensive. I learned the hard way... == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Sep 1998 23:00:36 EDT From: WBATTE Subject: FTE Pre61 - Neophyte 56 owner Hello Folks: Purchased my 1st PU (56 F-100 w/40K orig-miles). Just gave up the last 10 months for a 272 rebuild (don't ask) and would like this beauty to be my driver thru the winter in New England. (need to make up for lost time) Plan to be practical with the typical slush/salt problems. Any suggestions with (1) tire brands and sizes, (2) rear weight problems on slick pavement, (3) to undercoat or not, (4) COLD. Vehicle was a show piece and dead stock. Your knowledge and experience in conversation is appreciated. The question would be... I want to install the engine with as little smog devices as possible.. or none at all.. I would like to remove the '79 distributor and place an older points type of distributor to eliminate the need of other smog devices and the computer module. What year 351 point distributor or other distributor would be recommended? - -- Tulio Solorzano http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.concentric.com/~checkar == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of pre61-list-digest V2 #258 ******************************** +- Ford Truck Enthusiasts - Ranger, Explorer, Bronco 2 and Aerostar --+....
