Paul, I had the same problem with camaro rotors on my '53. I was going
to redrill the rotors from the backside with the 5 1/2" bolt circle and
put in new studs but couldn't because of the casting. I solved the
problem by drilling and tapping from the front (outside) and threading
1/2-20 studs into the rotors with the correct bolt pattern. - Mick

Hello All,

Its one of those memorable days. After, a year and a few months,
the 223 fired up today. Other than needing to adjust the valves,
sounds great. Just had to say somthing, to people who know how it
feels (my wife really could care less, she tried to sound exicted,
but after all these years, I can tell when she's faking it).

Due to the popular opinion (which I have to admit I agree with) that
the new classifieds pages stink, I've brought back the old classifieds.
I'm in the process of writing my own classifieds manager which I hope
will address the short-comings of both the old and new systems.

Subject: FTE Pre61 - Truck Identity

Well, I took the plunge, and pulled the remaining body parts off my truck,
including the cab and box. Then sanblasted the frame and bottom of the
cab, coated both with POR-15, had my cab undercoated, then reinstalled. I
can't explain how satisfied I am to have completed that job, and it looks
great. However, I heard new info that seems to change the identity of my
truck. I beleived that it was a '48 3/4 ton up till now. It has the F-68
emblem on the cab, implying that it is a 3/4 ton (6800 gvwr). However, my
Grandma (previous owner) and Aunt visited and explained that this was the
chicken truck, which Grandpa had bought off the lot as a 1 ton. The serial
number also seems to imply that this is not as I originally thought. Can
somebody tell me what my truck is from the serial number. The number is as
follows:
DF83H48-33124
Thanks all,
Darcy Davis

Hi Paul,

I previously posted a similar question as to adapting Ford Wheels to
my Cordoba rotors. The only suggestion received was to redrill rotors.
I made a template of the Ford pattern and overlayed it on the Cordoba
rotors. The redrilled bolt holes would fall within 3/16" of the edge of
the rotor. That seems to be too close for safety. I would be interest
ed in any solution you discover. I don't know about the
interchangeability of rotors that might have more "meat" on them to
redrill.
