In 54 the vin was screwed on, if you have the correct numbers of the truck (verify that they match the frame) Mid-fifty's will make a new one for you $75.00. 1-800-252-1956 Rich 54 F100 == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jul 1998 08:11:07 -0400 From: Frank Mester Subject: Re: FTE Pre61 - Re: ID's and wallpaper Conor, If you see a picture you'd like for wallpaper, just right click on the picture, you will see a small pulldown menu and left click on 'set as wallpaper'. Rides great, the kit also allowed for the installation of rack and pinion steering with the crossmember, I would highly recommend it. I just used the basic kit and got all the suspension parts out of the junkyard, and put new v8 springs in. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Jul 1998 01:52:31 -0000 From: "KEVIN R COUGHLIN" Subject: RE: FTE Pre61 - 1953 ?????'s David, I think I replied to Rays reply, I like the Mustang II IFS, read the other reply with Rays. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jul 1998 01:33:38 -0700 From: Russ Maki Subject: Re: FTE Pre61 - 1953 ?????'s Hi, new to the list, etc. I've got a '53 F-100 too. I kept the beam axle and installed monoleaf springs and new hardware all around. The change (good-bye kidney-killer) was impressive. I'd recommend it as an alternative to a full ifs installation. The cost runs about $400 per axle, as I recall.
