Thanks Bill >> Bill - When I put a 289 in a '52, I used a right side manifold on the left side, which made the exhaus exit to the front. A 180 bend put it right. That's all I had at the time. There are probably several different right side as well as left side manifolds which exit in different places, but I don't know what they are. Headers are an option, but don't fit in a shoestring budget, which is what I'm usually working with. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 13:24:59 EST From: JStoneF100 Subject: Re: front sheet metal price ????????? I need to know. Is it white, off white, ivory, colonial white, wimbledon white???? I am restoring to original and need to get a paint # or a chip!!!! maybe Don Neighbors can tell me what color he painted Grover? Now the hard question: what color was the 239 V-8 in '54??? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 15:27:10 EST From: OBKBEE Subject: Axle Bearings The man rebuilding my rearend told me he can't find the axle bearing part #'s to get new ones. These are pretty trashed and no part numbers on the bearings. the # on the bearing does not apply to a bearing. I told him as far as I knew the rearend was a stock unit in the truck. Is it possible that new bearings were installed previously..or that they are stock and the #'s on them were lot or batch numbers from the mfgr. It a 1 piece bearing, not a split race. There has to be a replacement. They are 28 spline. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance-kent ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 20:15:31 -0800 From: jc& terry Subject: 302 in a 51 not familiar with the ford but if you have no luck you can grab a set of block huggers. they are made for tight fits in rods, usually model t+a that have modern powerplants. nothing tighter than a set of 32 rails with a big bolck crammed between them.
