I would prefer to locate something in the northeast (up to 250 miles from the Boston area). Something from Wells Cargo, Hallmark, or Featherlite would be great. Also would like to find out about dealers who may have used units and would be willing to ship. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks Howard ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Feb 1998 21:36:40 -0500 From: "Paul G." Subject: windshield visor Does anyone know if a windshield ? visor is available for a '55? Were they a factory option? I am considering one for my panel. I am referring to the outside optional sun visors which run across the top of the windshield. Paul ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Feb 1998 20:52:57 -0600 From: Robert Hill Subject: Re: Trailer Wanted A few suggestions on an enclosed trailer. I currently have a 24' enclosed (you can read about trailer tips on my home page at http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://fly.hiwaay.net/~crhill/trailer.html) and owned a 20' before this. A couple of things to consider on putting a 50's Ford in. 1) check height - measure your truck and ensure it will clear the standard trailer door and ceiling height otherwise may have to opt for extra height trailer 2) get a road side escape door - getting out of a truck without an escapte door is next to impossible 3) AXLES - the standard trailer has T2 axles which are rated at 3500# each for a total of 7000#. With the weight of your truck and other things you carry, you could easily surpass that amount. Get T3 axles rated at 5200# each, this should handle about anything you want to carry. If you buy used, make sure you get the large axles, check the trailer plate - don't trust the seller. Again, check my homepage, I have put a few thoughts together on this subject from experience. Also, check with Trailer World in Bowling Green, KY and see if theu can help you in anyway.
