I want to buy a F 450 Dls.4x4 Crew Cab Automatic Transmission.My son has a
F250 hd 1991Dls nonturbo that has a Automatic 4speed .He had it rebuilt after
warranty run out and it cost him $2500.The trans.shop said that Ford used an
upgrade rebuild.I was wordering if The new auto.will be a breakdown unit as
the e40d.I will be towing 18000lbs.Gross wtg.thats truck an trailer.I haul
racehorses.I donot want be brokedown with horses.I was hoping Ford would use a
Cummins 5B or the C with auto 4speed Allison.I trust that set up.I have a 7.3
Dls throw 2rods threw the crankpan with a 4speed automatic.

Howdy!

I wanted to thank everyone for helping me with the oil tubes for
the rocker arm assembly that I was looking for. My 292 now sounds and
runs great. I especially want to thank Fred for sending me the tubes
through the mail and Neil for taking the time to help me out, as well as
everyone else that gave me such great advise. I did not expect that much
of a response for the problem that I was having. Thank You! Needless to
say these two listservs have a lot of great people that are willing to
help out in the drop of a dime!

Once again thanks and have a great weekend.

p.s. I also found out that not only did the machine shop loose the tube,
but they put the rocker assembly on upside down! I will never take them
another engine again because not only did they screw up then, but they put
the heads on backward, install the wrong freeze plugs, and improperly
installed the camshaft. Thank God that I took the truck to a good shop
that did an awesom job fixing and catching the majority of the machine
shop's screw ups!
