Can someone help with the correct engine colors for Ford truck engines before
1960? I'm trying to compile a list. Thanks.

Dusty,

I don't know what your email address is so I'm contacting
you via the list.

The picture of your snazzy 1954 F100 is now on the web site.

Does anyone know if the exact font Ford used on my 1948 F-1's speedometer
is available anywhere as a truetype font? I am thinking of restoring my
speedometer face using a homemade decal. I may just scan the original face
and clean things up in software instead of starting from scratch. Does
anyone have any experience with this kind of project? I would appreciate
any suggestions. Thanks, Paul Clegg, paulc transera.com

I don't know what font it is but you could try scanning it and
matching it with the closest one that you have. Or the other option
would be to use the scanned immage and clean it up like you said. I
had to re-make a letter head and logo and I just scanned it and used
the closest font that I could find and just cleaned up the graphic on
it the best I could. Once you scan it send it to me and I do what I
can to help.

Thanks for your comments Terry. Somehow I believe that I saw an ad before in
a magazine of a glass shop that sold chopped glass, but I am not sure. I just
think that it will be a lot easier being able to get the glass already cutted.
This is the most important item to consider when doing a chop top, in my
opinion. I talked to a glass guy in my hometown and he will do it for $70.00,
but he also said that it will be without guarantees. The glass that my cab
has is original and it is very possible that it won't stand the cutting.
Anyway, the cab is right now sitting at a welding shop since it needs to have
some rusted areas repaired, but as soon as I get it, I want to start with this
chop glass project.

Thanks again,

Joe

My 54 is red, and my neighbors 53 is green, 55 is yellow

PS: I would be interested in finding the correct paint # and not just the
colors.
I had a hard time matching the correct red.

Paul,
I am considering the same on my 47 1/ 2 ton panel, Please stay in touch as I
would be interested in your results. I also have a friend in the vinyl sign
business that may be able to cut vinyl for the face of the cluster. Thanks,
Gary Oberbeck at azyacht ....
