A friend wants to put an automatiac in his 56-f100. I know that they used them into the early 60`s. Also any one know if a c4 kit is available to go behind the 223? I'm not sure of the exact numbers but it comes in a fine, medium, or coarse grade. I got it at a builder supply yard near me, it's readily available. 100 lb bag was $7.50. Thanks-Ken ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Nov 1997 17:13:32 -0500 (EST) From: OBKBEE Subject: Re: Blasting Hello, The Full name of the material is Black Beauty, it comes in three grades- 1-Fine-#2020....(might be off on the #) 2-Medium-#2040...(again ? #) 3-Coarse-#2060....( " ) I got it a builders supply. It was in the town I live in from a supply place that carried building materials, gravel, pipe etc. They come in 100lb bags It seems to do an excellent job. I subsequently have learned that the BB is a little rougher on thinner metal than the conventional. It pits the metal a bit. So on thinner metal you have to be careful as to the pressure your using (more pressure/more friction/ more heat, warping the metal. But on frame or heavy like guage anything goes. I'm just using a little 25lb gravity feed hopper. 140psi is great. :):) I know, you know wear a tight mask, or have the Q-tips for those Air Induction Pathways--Nistrils ready to go. I'm trying to put a blast nozzel gun into a big shop vac end so it will suck some of the material, cut down on the over blast. Crossover pipe exaust manifold, brackets, holley 2 bbl, exaust manifolds look new, no rust, no pits. Was running before removed. I haven't the foggiest notion in england what it's worth, but it's stock and original and here. I can't transport it for ya (sorry), you'd have to get it. Has a nice chrome 14 in air cleaner cover, i know---ooohhh neato, I'm spasming in joy :). Since I am upgrading powerplants (from front block mount to saddle type side frame mounts) can I remove the crossmember that the front of the motor sat on since the radiator has it's own member. It just looks bad because of it being notched for the chrysler front susp and there are only two rivets holding it on anyway. I can't see how it maintains any structual integrity. Thanks in advance- Kent (obkbee ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Nov 1997 17:41:34 -0500 (EST) From: Spowel4 Subject: Re: Parts is parts The closest place I know of is Obsolete Ford Parts, down in Georgia. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Nov 1997 19:23:54 -0500 From: Ken Payne Subject: ADMIN: Web site milestone Ford Truck Enthusiasts has just reached a new milestone! 50,000 visitors to the web site as of this evening.
