If I recall, on a '52 there are about 12 bolts holding the whole front end on. Two big ones under the U-shaped radiator bracket, two on each running board, and several holding the fender/fenderwell to the cab. After disconnecting the wires and coolant lines, two people could walk the whole nose - grill, radiator, the works - right off the front of the truck. Then things get real easy. I've also done this on later model cars, so maybe its an option on the subject truck. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Oct 1997 09:08:25 -0500 From: "Don & Teresa Neighbors" Subject: Ford into Ch*vy Project How's that Ford driveline into a Ch*vy truck project coming along? I mentioned that to an urepentant Ch*vr*l*t fan at my office, and I thought he was going to pass out!! Needless to say, I took fiendish delight in telling him about it! By the way, thanks for the suggesstions on easy engine removal. The more I look at it, the easier it looks if I just take the doghouse off. It will also give me an opportunity to take a look at the kingpins from an erect, rather than supine, posture, and I just may tackle that project at the same time. Just found the can that was used on my 55 F100, 317 Y Block: It is as follows: PPG Deltron Acrylic Urethane OEM: WA3893 DAU2094 Medium Yellow. Hope that helps who ever was looking. Howard ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Oct 1997 21:58:54 -0600 From: "Jim Shedlauskas" Subject: 1949 F-4 I'm the new owner of a 1949 F-4 cab and chassis. The antique truck world is fairly new to me, I've spent most of my time dealing with newer models. I'd like to find out a little more about this thing. All the magazines, catalogs and books refer to F-1's and maybe a F-2 or F-3, I've never seen an F-4 mentioned anywhere. Am I looking in the wrong place? I'm interested in the basic information, like what did it look like new? What information can I get from the data plate? Should it have turn signals? Why does a truck this large only have a six cylinder? Is this really a six volt positive ground system? And many other silly questions... If someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction, I sure would appreciate it! Thanks, Jim ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Oct 1997 21:33:21 MST From: "Scott Sheldrake" Subject: 1951/52 Ford Pickup Page Hello all I have just started to make a 1952 Ford Pickup home page.
