Okay people, relax. The bonehead with the defective
auto-reply has been removed. Sending list removal
requests to a) the wrong address and b) with misspellings
only makes it worse for everyone else. If you want to
leave, read the instructions at the bottom.

Don't know about the F8s, but the F1s come up through the floor.

Originally it was positive ground. Everything original works when
changed to negative ground (even the radio), except the ammeter reads
backwards. That's easily changed by running the wire through the loop on the
back the other way. I've heard some theories that positive ground works
better on the secondary ignition, which is why some people switch.
Now what's this about a 6V positive ground electronic ignition?

Jack,
I am currently using the small chrome air cleaners
with stainless steel hose clamps. I think the throat
size is 2 5/8". However, Ford used that Holley carb
until the mid 60's so you might find one in a
boneyard. Also check out Paul's 1952 Ford Truck Page,
http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://hometown.aol.com/pwptruck1, he shows how to
convert an oil bath air cleaner to paper element.
As to the exhaust manifold, finding a used one for a
215 that is not cracked is not easy which is why I
went to a 223. Just need to make a new exhaust pipe.

I paid $50 for my tank, but $65 is probably a reasonable figure.

FYI, my tank came from a 93 Rodeo. Seems all Isuzu tanks from the
Rodeo, Trooper, and Amigo (not sure about the pickup) are the same
from mid 80's to mid 90's. With that many vehicles in that wide of a
range, it should be no problem to find one.

My question is: To be as close to original as is reasonable, should I paint
the running boards flat or glossy?

The rest of the truck is as close to the original green as I could get using....
