They might be exactly what the doctor ordered. I ran a couple down but havent removed or measured them yet., But they appear to be real close to maybe working. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Apr 2000 09:42:48 -0400 From: Fred Hooper Subject: Re: Flooring Nick, I bought a roll of insulation from PEP Boys that was foil on one side and a fairly heavy jute on the other, about 20 to 29 dollars, don't remember. Then because our trucks have almost flat floors, I went to a local carpet store and bought six feet off the end of a roll of black carpet, I think it was a 12 foot roll. Five bucks a yard, so for $60. this gave me enough to carpet from the top of the firewall to the back of the cab twice... in case I messed up. I didn't , it was easy. I should have jacked up the truck and put it on jack stands, but I didn't. Will I have permanent flat spots on my Coker reproduction bias-ply 16 inch whitewall tires? If it's not permanant what should I do to get them round again? I'm looking forward in time a bit for fun new ways to spend money on my truck, a '50 F3. So... I haven't really looked at the steering and such on my truck, but there is a lot of play in the steering wheel, like maybe 1/4 of a turn or so. Is this normal, or should I start looking at fixing up the steering box and other steering parts? If there is supposed to be some play, has anyone tried a steering stabilizer (one of those shock-looking things that modified 4X4s use), or would this just make the steering effort harder? Also, I'm looking into getting some seatbelts. I would prefer to get 3-point, but don't know where would be the best point to bolt in the shoulder harness. Any suggestions? Still waiting for the fuel pump kit (and rear drums) to arrive in the mail... =====jeffh Another fine message brought to you by the Screaming Penguins: Unnoficial site of the "John Madden for President" campaign! ------------------------------ End of pre61-list Digest V2000 #47 ********************************** ---------------------------------------------------------- Ford Truck Enthusiasts 1948-1960 Truck List....
