While I don't know about the 49 trucks the later models ( at least 57-60) had
more then one GVW per series/model. My 60 manual list 6 GVW's for the F100, 4
for the F250, 2 for the F350, etc. Also most people think that the F100,F250
etc., are model numbers, but ford doesn't at least not in the early trucks.
My manual says that trucks are a series F100 model F100 GVW5000, model F101
GVW4000 model F102 GVW5000, etc. So you need a shop manual to decode the
plate, and insure you get the correct info. Hope this helps.

your sheet metal cowl cover has about (5 ) 5/16" screws holding it onto
the actual lever. they're on a slotted pattern so only loosen them 1/2 way
and cover should pop off. easy install.

I just ran the Ford Truck Enthusiasts server logs for the first
time in several months. WOW!

A historical perspective: it took us slightly over 2 years
to reach 1 million visitors.

As of March, 2000, FTE is now receiving over 300,000 visitors
per month!

Expect **more** free services in the near future. We've added
the archive search, updated message board software (if you haven't
been by the message boards on the web site lately, you're missing
a large and rapidly growing community) and free web based mail so
far in March. We've got a few more items upcoming in the next
two weeks.

Thank you to everyone for making us a success!

this is the sound my truck makes because i don't have any horn(s).
which is bad, especially when you loose your brakes in san francisco and can't
warn doomed pedestrians.
does anyone know where to find reproduction, original or (last resort) decent
aftermarket horns for a 53 f100? none of the catalogs have them. thanks.
