While I don't know about the 49 trucks the later models ( at least 57-60) had
more then one GVW per series/model. My 60 manual list 6 GVW's for the F100, 4
for the F250, 2 for the F350, etc. Also most people think that the F100,F250
etc., are model numbers, but ford doesn't at least not in the early trucks.
My manual says that trucks are a series F100 model F100 GVW5000, model F101
GVW4000 model F102 GVW5000, etc. So you need a shop manual to decode the
plate, and insure you get the correct info. Hope this helps.

Subject: 49 cowl vent gasket

your sheet metal cowl cover has about (5 ) 5/16" screws holding it onto
the actual lever. they're on a slotted pattern so only loosen them 1/2 way
and cover should pop off. easy install.
