Eddie,
According to my 60 Shop manual. F250 came with a Spicer, F350 and bigger with
either a Timken or Eaton. All of these companys still exist in one form or
another.
Spicer is now Dana. Hope this helps.

If you go to an insurance agent, you can get a title
using a "title bond." The bond is basically a policy
based on the value of the car. It insures your title
against the possible "real owner" showing up with the
title. After 2 years (more or less depending on state),
your title is secure against claims because the state
now considers yours the only title. This method is
usually cheaper than finding a title company because
they have to do title searches.

Hi All,

Anyone know where I can get a 3 speed tranny speedometer gear (running a 239
flathead). It is the one that fits over the main shaft out of the
transmission to the drive shaft and turns the small gear attached to the
speedo cable?
Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

I have seen the gears that go on the closed torque tube transmissions at
swap meets, but don't know of any reproductions available.

A friend of mine looked for a while at junk yards and took a lot of measurements
to find what would swap the easiest and finally found a rear from a 86 1/2 ton
that swapped right in. His truck is a 53 and he cruises at highway speeds with
his new rear end.
