I have a '58 F-100 that I bought not running about a year and a half ago. It runs now, but I was wondering: when I turn the parking lights on, They seem normal, but when I switch on the headlights, they go out. Are they supposed to stay on with the headlights, or is what they're doing normal. (I've rewired them with the rest of the truck, since a rodent had previously feasted on my wiring harness.) Any input is greatly appreciated. Tim Goodwin Colorado Springs, Co. The 53-56's all have the same basic cab so all that stuff is interchangeable. I just talked to Mike tonight (the guy who designed them). He let me take a few pics of his "extended cab" big window. Really sharp. He's had his and many of his customers Effies in the magazines. Told me he got tired of hacking up cabs for big windows so he had this window fabricated. He went through 6 prototypes before it was "right." As he told me, "with the first 5, the customer may not know its not right, but I would and I have to put my name on it." Sort of the same attitude that's made Dennis Carpenter a great company. Regardless of whether you get a big window through us, I'd highly recommend Mike's work. He does practically everything, not just Effies. Beware though, he is a small block bigot! He seems to like putting them under the hood of Effies, which explains why some of the LoRiders are running 350s. If you want the parking lights to stay on move them to the tail light terminal on the light switch. That is the R terminal on the switch in my 52 F-1. I did mine that way when I rewired. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Timothy Goodwin" To: "pre61 ford list" Sent: Thursday, July 06, 2000 8:30 PM Subject: [pre61-list] Parking lights > Hi Gang! > I have a '58 F-100 that I bought not running about a year and a half > ago. Ordered 4 from NAPA, and got 4 pieces of crap that were made of tin foil. Tried to pop one on with my hand, and promptly dented the edge. Returned them to the store (they were slightly too small also) and an older salesman recalled a pile of hubcaps in the implement storage shed. Sorted through them and found 6 heavy-duty chrome caps that are 10 1/4". These are NOS, but I don't know what from. A couple needed polished up, but are in good shape. They traded me the 6 for the 3 cheapies that I returned. What a deal!
