Randy;
Sometimes new clutch plates need a good work out before they settle in.
Try loading it up with brakes on & let it slip just enough to get it hot &
smelly...but not too hot..dont want to warp the pressure plate.
That will knock the feathers off it!. If that doesnt cure it you'll have to
remove assy to check if all is correct.

Some vehicles won't release if clutch disc is in backwards. Not sure
how flathead's are set-up. Also, make sure release lever is on pivot
knob and it's not cracked which may open-up now with new springs
on P-plate. Happend to me on newer truck I had.

release. Adjusted the linkage longer, but still having problems. It doesn't
feel like it has any free-play at all now, but clutch still drags. Been
assembled about 6 months, Could it just be rust or dirt?

The headlight buckets mount from the front, with the 4 screws you
mentioned.

I upgraded mine to headlight buckets from my old 78 Ford van. They
mount EXACTLY the same, with the 4 holes located in the same places (not
on centers), and the adjusting screws, springs, etc. were in much better
shape, plus the adjusting screws worked easier than the stock ones, due
to a slightly improved design.

The only thing I did, to make life easier, was to grind a little off of
a side flange or two, so they would slip into the grille hole a lot
easier. You don't have to take off much; in fact, doing so would
interfere with the sealing "circle".

Howdy,
I'm looking for a 2 bolt mount for a '53 -'55 door mirror. Actually a couple if anybody has any of these lying around, but even one would do for now. I don't need the mirrors, just the mount that bolts into the door. I'll buy or trade for these parts...

Thanks...
Mark.

All the catalogs I have just carry fiberglass. Two places I don't
have catalogs for that you can try are:

Joblot Automotive (Queens, NY), (800) 221-0172
Little Dearborn Parts (Minneapolis), (888) 282-0266 or www.littledearborn.com

If you don't mind used fenders, try:

French Lick Auto, (320) 274-8497
Desert Valley Auto Parts (Arizona), (800) 905-8024 or www.dvap.com

And if those don't work, try:

Good luck!

I had a NAPA store give me a rebuilt pressure plate that was identical in
every way *except* that it was 1/8" closer to the flywheel. Wrong
application.
