I've read and seen trucks with grill painted argent and the surrounding area painted aluminum. I've got a truck with white grill bars and the truck color (dark green) in the surrounding area. I know that one of these is correct and I am leaning toward the argent/aluminum scheme. Is this a correct assumption? Regards, Nick ------------------------------ From: MichellHC Date: Wed, 9 Feb 2000 16:42:59 EST Subject: Gas Tanks I know of no gas tanks that will fit the rear of a 53 through 56 with no frame modification at all. However I can tell you that the tank from an 85 Isuzu Trooper is a virtual bolt in if you move the rear crossmember rearward about three to five inches. I also notched the left frame rail on the top flange so the neck would have plenty of clearance. The beauty part of the tank is that there are no straps to contend with and the tank bolts directly to the lower frame flange. I installed one in my 56 my self with no outside help. If I can do it, anybody can. Michelle Chelle's 56 Hauler For you guys wondering, I plan on driving my 56 to Pigeon Forge this year. Hopefully it will be safer. ------------------------------ End of pre61-list Digest V2000 #1 ********************************* ---------------------------------------------------------- Ford Truck Enthusiasts 1948-1960 Truck List Send posts to small-list If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list, send an email to: listar To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
