Subject: ADMIN: New list commands

Hi gang!

Here's the list commands. This new server will no longer require
you to stop HTML and MIME. It will filter them out automatically.
No more posting problems for the newbies!

TO SUBSCRIBE TO A LIST:
Send a message to listar ford-trucks.com. In the subject field,
enter "subscribe [listname]". Or, you can send a message to
[listname]-request ford-truck.com with a subject of "subscribe".
TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM A LIST:
Send a message to listar ford-trucks.com. Enter
"unsubscribe [listname]" in the subject field. You can also
send a message to [listname]-request ford-trucks.com with a
subject of "unsubscribe". While you should NOT send your
unsubscribe command to the list itself, Listar will attempt
to trap such erroneous postings and forward them to the list
administrators for proper handling.
TO GET A DIGEST EVERY DAY:
Send a message to listar ford-trucks.comthe with a subject
of "set [listname] digest". This will turn on digests, and you
will receive a digest however often the server is configured to
send them.
TO STOP GETTING A DIGEST:
Send a message to listar ford-trucks.com with a subject
of "unset [listname] digest". This will turn off digest mode, and
instead you will receive an eMail every time something is posted
to the list.
TO GET A DIGEST AND NORMAL POSTS:
Send a message to listar ford-trucks.com with a subject of
"set [listname] digest2". This will activate digest mode with
normal posting. As each message is posted to the list it will be
sent to you, and you will receive a digest as well. This flag
should be used INSTEAD of digest, NOT IN ADDITION TO.
To stop receiving digests in addition to normal posts, send a
message to the listar account with a subject of "unset [listname]
digest2". You will go back to receiving normal posts.
TO GO ON VACATION:
Send a message to listar ford-trucks.com with a subject of
"set [listname] vacation". You will remain subscribed to the list
but will not receive any eMail as long as this flag is set. To
come back from vacation, eMail listar ford-trucks.com with a
subject of "unset [listname] vacation".

Subject: ADMIN: All lists are back up

All FTE lists are back up. If you attempted to unsubscribe
in the past week, all unsubscribe attempts were never received.
Please send email now to listar ford-trucks.com with the
following in the subject of the message:

unsubscribe list-name

where list name is one of the following:
small-list
pre48-list
pre61-list
61-79-list

The web site FAQ and on-line subscribe form will be updated
this afternoon to reflect the switch to the new list server.
Thanks for everyone's patience with this, I've been going
through FTE mailing list withdrawal just as badly as some
of you!

Subject: VIN # Plate Question

Hi everyone

Does anyone know how or know where I can find some info on how to decode my
VIN # on my 55 F-100? Also, does anyone remanufacture or remake VIN plates?
I found another very old plate, in a huge box, full of parts, that came with
my 55, that is a little different from the one that is currently on the
truck. I think the other plate I found is from a 56, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jason Maples

Subject: 49 F-1 Grill Paint Scheme

Just wanted to confirm my thinking on the paint scheme
on the grill area of my effie. From what I've read
and seen on the web and in books, it looks like the
grill bars and area around the headlights, etc. was
all painted an argent color. Actually, the grill was
argent and the surrounding area is aluminum. The
colors look the same to me.

Can anyone confirm this for me?

Thanks

Ed and the Effie
