The bracket for 49-53 is slightly different from 32-48 because of the width of the corresponding bracket on the intake manifold. I did end up needing a different belt on my truck. I've got some pictures and description at http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://world.std.com/~tjt/Cars/Installing.html. The nice thing about one wire alternator when replacing a very early generator is that the early cars never had a voltage regulator -- just a 'generator cutout' and so the stock wiring harness only has one wire anyway. If you have a 38 or later with a voltage regulator, you can still use the one wire alternator, of course, but have to change the wiring slightly.
