I just finished completely replacing the entire brakeing system on my 39
1/2 ton. It can be a little bit of
work, but it's not to bad. It wasn't that expensive either. I think I
did everything from the master cylinder
to the linings for under 300. Just watch it pulling the rear drums.
The're on a tapered shaft and require a
puller to remove. It's also a good idea to replace the wheel seals and
repack the bearings while you've
got it apart. Both front and rear run external bearings. If you need
any help please feel free to give me
a yell. I will be moving until next week sometime, but I can be reached

Thank-you Steve, John, and Fred,
Your help is very appreciated, I have learned to try to gain as much
knowledge from those that have walked the path before you. I greatly
appreciate the time and experience you guys are willing to share. I am
buying this truck so cheap, I don't think I will ever have to sell it. I
hope to do a full "driving restoration" over the next few years. and I
believe I will tell my wife, "Hey, it's Y2K compliant" But anyway, thanks
for the help so far, I would love to see any pictures of this model truck if
anybody has some they can e-mail
