ADMIN: Picture Gallery Update ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Oldtrukman Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2001 03:18:32 EST Subject: Survey results. Ken. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy these lists. I don't contribute to often, but I do chime in once in a while. I do, however, look forward to coming home each night and checking in with all of my "friends" on the net, to see what everyone has been up to with their trucks. I am very surprised that you only got 250 responds to the survey, considering the large audience that you reach. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your effort, and that it is very much appreciated. Rix56, The Rat 351C/C6 ------------------------------ From: Oldtrukman Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2001 03:40:36 EST Subject: C6 Transmission, 2nd gear Hi all. I read all the responses to the 2nd gear thread in the C6 trans. As stated, the 2nd gear start off feature is great, but I was surprised that no one mentioned the "hill holding" capability of it as well. If you are stopped on a steep grade, ie, a steep boat ramp while launching or retrieving your boat, of sitting at a stop light at the top of California street in San Francisco, just put it 2nd, and as long as the engine is running, your rig can't roll backwards down the hill. Just another advantage of the Ford transmissions. P. S. C4's work the same way. I've decided to go with the L&L fenderwell headers and would like any input regarding exhaust routing. I'm tossing around whether to go with it down the outside of the frame rail to a tube type muffler and a turn out or wrap the pipe back over or under the frame and use the flowmasters and turndowns. Any suggestions, opinions or pictures are appreciated. Thanks. You will have straighter pipes also, than inside the frame. All of the pipe will be up and out of harms way. I don't see why flowmasters, or any other mufflers can't be used outside the frame rail besides tube types.
