ADMIN: Opportunities with Ford Truck Enthusiasts! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 05 Nov 2000 15:56:35 -0800 From: scott <scott Subject: FE heads >>If you really want to spend some money on those heads, I can get with my machinist and see what all he did, and I can relay the message to you. Thanks for the offer, but the more I think about it,the less grinding I want to do.I have never ported a set of heads and I would hate to mess up a set of 428 CJ heads.I think I will clean up the rough edges and do a little polishing and call it good.I'll also match the intake ports to the heads. >>Heads that can breath very well can make a tremendous difference, make sure though, that you match up your cam with your head work. I am still up in the air on cam selection. With the 10.5 compression and a heavy F-250 4x4 I'm sure the cam will be the critical componet. The only thing I know for sure is a RV cam definatly does not work. I'm leaning towards one of two Lunati grinds 228-235 duration .536-536 lift 110 lobe center 270-290 duration .481-.490 lift 114 lobe centers.(basicaly a 428 CJ cam) >> My heads ended up flowing 273 on the bench. Ya it was expensive, but where >> does it stop??????? :) I have owned my truck for over 20 years and I'll tell you it never stops........ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Nov 2000 11:52:50 -0500 From: Ken Payne <kpayne Subject: ADMIN: Your truck on the official Ford web site!
