Also what motor is this ? 5.0 ? 5.8? > Now I need suggestions for shorty headers, brand ?, source ? > My passenger side exaust manifold is cracked. A common ailment ... I think it has to do with the fact that you can see the manifold from outside the truck through the fenderwell (if the "whiskers" are gone) which means cold water can splash on hot cast iron ... not usually a good thing... my sister's came off in 2 pieces when they unbolted it ... > I need to know what company any of you have used that provides a complete > system that will increase performance. > Check with Edelbrock, theirs are pricey I think, but they do make them for most applications ... also dynomax and FMS I think have some ... might get a Jeg's or Summit catalog, I was able to put together almost an entirely new exhaust for my dad ... right before we ordered it he drove it to the local shop and paid just as much to have a new stock one put on ... I was a bit miffed, but it is his truck... Steve, Hope you don't mind me writing off of the list. I'm considering adding a Jacob's to my 96 F150 302/auto and was curious what your thoughts are. Noticeable improvement? Increased gas mileage? Do their claims seem to be justified? How difficult/easy was the hook up? Any thoughts or information you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom in Phoenix EngineSmith Sez : I am still new to this ignition system but it seems that along with advancing the timing & installing the Omni Pak sold in JC Whitney did the trick. The company bites when it comes to ANY type of contact. A salesslob called B---S--t. But when I wanted to call or fax or e-mail back with ? I had no luck after 10 days of trying at least 3 times each day ! When the " Mileage- -Master " he talked me into arrived I refused it. I bought a less expensive kit from JC Whitney because if I had trouble THEY would respond propery by return & refund. I could'nt expect that from a direct deal from the factory rep salesman . If there was another company I would have chose them instead but Whitneys' reputation sold this product not the non-existant customer service of Jacobs Co. I should have researched more but have no time. But the next time I am thinking about buying from anyone I will call their cust. serv. dept. & see how long I wait. Installation was easy put plenty of dielectric gel to lube the plug boots. Keep in touch & let me know if u find another co. & how u do. Remember Whitney WILL return & they DO have cust. serv. So u can try to be sure.
