Joe,

If you really want that particular package either go to California and buy
one off of the
lot (if you've got the money they will sell you the truck) or go and get
yourself a
Mailbox Etc. address (a street address which the Feds will soon be
outlawing) and
buy your truck that way. Personally, I'd just go to Ca and buy it off of
their lot. They
are not going to care where you live. If necessary, lie and say you just
moved into town,
your truck died on the way, and you need a new one now (after settling on
the price.).
You may have to pay to license it in Ca and then back in Texas but I guess
it just
depends on how much you want to spend. Is it cheaper than a new tranny? It
sounds as
if the dealer doesn't want to be bothered with the paperwork or Dearborn
won't cooperate.
Either way, it can still be done. The last time I checked exporting a
motor vehicle
OUT of Ca was not a crime.
