When the time comes, would it be better to purchase the Gale Banks "system" (Powerpack), which includes all three and, I'm sure, has been designed to work together OR buy the best K&N intake system, a set of headers/hedders (which one? — Hedman, Jardine, Edelbrock, etc.), and a (which one? — Borla, Gibson, Flowmaster, etc.) muffler/exhaust/cat-back system? Banks system comes, I believe, with a K&N filter, but, I do not believe that it will be the latest and the greatest. I believe it's just a filter-element replacement for the factory version in the factory housing. I would like the large, open-air units that K&N makes. Or would it even make a difference? Headers/hedders (whichever way it's spelled?). Are there REALLY any others that are better than the rest? I seem to remember something I read somewhere about one of the manufacturers having something called a "Power Pickle", but, I can't remember which one. Is a hedder just a hedder or does someone out there have it "dialed-in" and no one else does? Cat-back. Power & performance between manufacturers is probably pretty equal. What I'm concerned about is SOUND! P&P also. But, sound is utmost on my mind. I would prefer a slightly low(er) sound (from stock), not too harsh though, NOT TOO LOUD, basically something a bit "noticeable." 2000 F-250 SD/SC 4WD V-10 Auto LWB/LB Lariat What are YOUR thoughts, list? Basically, how cold can it get when mixed with water before it does freeze? Would the ratio's that the manufacture suggest be best, even for EXTREMILY cold conditions? The reason I ask is because I am going to build a water block to cool the CPU in my computer and want to know how cold can I get it? Thanks BTW, anyone know what would cause my charging system in my 79 ford van to charge at full blast all the time? Two different regulators did the same thing. Some of my wiring got kinda fried when I touched a wrench to the postive terminal while at the same time touching the ground of my voltage regulator, so it could be a big electrical mess now. I have gone though 6 Wells regulators, the last one charged full blast, and I had the store test it and it tested bad. I went and bought a higher quality one - borg I believe and it did the exact same thing as my last one. So I wonder, could that last one I bought have been bad too? So many iffy things. the alternator is brand new too btw - thanks again == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Oct 1999 20:34:58 -0500 From: tvsjr Subject: RE: FTE Perf - Superchers Well, yeah, Ford SVT supercharges them every day to go into the Lightnings. I got an intake today at a swap meet, didn't look to carefully, after better inspection it seems that it takes a rochester carburetor :(. I really dislike the Q-Jet. I think this is a 429CJ intake, but am really not sure. Next question, who makes a good adapter to use a holley flange on the Q-Jet bolt pattern, I saw in Summit one that was ported, and one that wasn't, can anyone help me out here as to what the difference is? later dan == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html....
