Hi everyone--
I'm a brand new subscriber to this forum, crossed over from one of the Falcon

I have a '65 Falcon Club Wagon (same as the Econoline) with a 240 1bbl C-4.
The engine is getting tired, and I'm considering a major upgrade. My
question #1 is: Did Ford make a 300 fuel injected AOD pickup in the late
80's? I'm really tired of carb vacuum leaks, drippy transmission, and 14
mpg, and I'd like to drop some newer technology under the, engine
cover--this thing sits between the seats. More horsepower wouldn't be a bad
thing either!

Q #2: Are there suspension and brake modifications that can be made to the
straight axle setup? I'd really like a less 'conestoga' like ride, and the
drum brakes can be pretty scary under a load. (I went through them
completely a couple of years back, including new drums, shoes, springs and

Yeah, they did do this. Im not sure when it started, but it was like that
till the engine was discontinued in 97. A lot can be done to boost
performance on these big 6's. My brother and I just finished his 300, and it
has more power than either one of us thought possible from a 6. IT has pull
your head back acceleration that rivals that of a lot of V-8s out there.
