The windsors were well respected too, but they've also been discontinued,
all in the name of progress likely.

And PLEASE don't send me email about the possible return of the windsor, or
how aweful the modular is, I just don't care anymore.

There are MANY very fine discontinued engines out there in automobile
heaven...

Nope, 96 was the last year, when the 97 was introduced it came with a V6,
something on the 4.3L line ??? Dunno for sure what the displacement was on
it ...

Another reason for its demise was that nifty sloped hood, the I6 was just
too tall for to long to get it to work right .... ( I need more 2's in that
sentence I think ...)

nope, they ran all they way up to 96. Discontinued when the 97 came out.
Might be in some of the 97 and 98 heavy duty F-250's though.

I think there's a lot of truth in that statement. The new Ford trucks don't
look like real trucks to me, too stylish. I believe the 300/6 was probably
too long to put in the new truck. I didn't get a real good idea about how
long the thing is until I pulled mine out. I had to remove the radiator,
fan, and fan pully in order to have enough room. Bill Jeffreys
