Not everyone lives up in the great white north and needs the extra clearance on the 4wd. I know guys around here who use the 4wd in the rain even. And how many times have you seen those Jeeps and little things all jacked up but staying on the road ? I think its something like 90% of all the vehicle use leaves them on the road and not needing the extra ground clearance ... I saw a Ch*bby pickup at a new car show and thought it looked odd ... it was lowered and had a Corvette 5.7L with AWD hooked up to it... pretty cool for a chubby, though not very practical after the 8" snows we usually get piling up in the winter. Anyway I've wondered why there aren't MORE 4x4's being lowered, my Dad can't stand to have a vehicle jacked up, he didn't like the Eagle sitting as high as it did, but the Tempo sits just right (yes its AWD), and now he's got an F250HD (89?) that sits up. I think there's only been a couple of times that we were afraid the Tempo wouldn't make it through something, and every time it did ... so I don't think sitting too low is really an issue once you get into town or below the MN state line :) Just my 2cents wish Links http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.public.iastate.edu/~wish/links.html '73 1/2 ton 4x4 Ford http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.public.iastate.edu/~wish/truck.html '96 Mustang GT http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.public.iastate.edu/~wish/mustang.html == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 16:30:34 -0400 From: Ken Payne Subject: FTE Perf - ADMIN: Peggy Hi All, I would like to make a request. Please talk to your fellow truckers and find out about auto shows in your area. They don't have to be Ford specific or truck specific. If you have a form or flier, great! You can fax it to me at (770) 806-1955 or mail it to me at PO Box 422, Lilburn GA, 30048. If all you have is a rumor contact me anyway. I've learned of five shows in the last 24 hours, just by calling for info on one show. If you are wondering what this is for, Ken and I would like to meet more of you, and we know that Pigeon Forge is a long way for some of you. So we are going to try to see if we can go to some of these other shows around the country. I appreciate any help you can give. I drive the 450 miles every year for that show. Lots of good truck stuff too. I found dealer sales pamphlets and an owners manual for a 73 I was going to be building. I'll be there this year, definately pickin up stuff for Tweety. If you check Reno's website (dont ask me what it is) it will have some dates for you.
