Your list of mods is impressive as most Lightning owners I have known wanted to "keep my resale value". A couple of things that I have learned that you might want to consider. EFI is vary sensitive to air temperature. While the K&N Cone addresses the flow restrictions of the factory set up; you may find a power increase by ducting cool outside air to it rather then the air coming off the E. manifold/header. Underdriving the waterpump is not a bad idea but make sure that you Alt. is still delivering specified amperage as I found some power loss this way on a 5.0 Mustang with a similar underdrive. Are you still running the factory shorty headers? Again on a 5.0 there was a big power increase with a set of 1 5/8 full length set. Nice Truck! Anyone that didn't follow the link should! Have you thought about a supercharger instead/with the NOS? I'm old fashioned I guess, just like real 'earned' horses as opposed to a button push of engine-eatin' miracle juice. (I dont even care for turbo's much either.. just like that whine of a blower I guess. It's all personal preference though; it ought to scream when you're done!) I have an '89 Ranger that I am road racing with the SCCA. Right now it is currently getting a heart rebuild and a new pace maker. Cam, valves, increased compression and a new computer chip for the F.I. . It is a blast to run and I hope to get a full season in it next year. The development of the truck has been rewardingly frustrating. The only other person I know of that built a Ranger for road racing was Mr. Steve Saleen and for some reason I can't seem to get in touch with him. Saw this on a t-shirt and liked it ( If it can't kill you it's not a sport) gottago seeya bye Brett ITT 41 (improved touring truck) == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Nov 1998 21:46:27 -0500 From: Ken Payne Subject: FTE Perf - ADMIN: Chat page To those who've wondered when the chat page is going to be back up.... I've been testing out the chat engine we used in the spring (the one that would hang up every 2-3 days). On the new server, it doesn't seem to have the hanging problems. 2-3 more days of testing and it will be online. This chat server doesn't use web server resources at all, unlike the one we've been using which hogs 1 web connection per user (which causes web visitors to wait for a web connection if they're all used up).
