A few years ago I swapped a 289 for a 240 in a 67 Merc pickup. Its about
the same as swapping a 302 for a 300. the 300 is balanced different that
the 302, get a flywheel for the 302. BTW what year is the 302? around
1980 Ford changed the crank in the 302, the newer ones are balanced
different than the older ones. I had to get the frame mounts from a
pickup that had a 302 in it, the 6 cyl are different, and I seem to
remember having to sort out somthing with the water pump, the one that
came with the engine had the rad hose connection on the opposite side
that most pickups did. If you have a "donor" vehilce it makes it a lot
easier.

Sorry, thought you were looking for a set for your street truck. I remember when you got the Blue Thunders.

George Miller

don't need 'em anymore. got a set of blue thunder "a" heads last year for
dirt cheap. about $1,600 for the heads (complete), matching intake and
stud girdles. flow like sewer pipes and the intake (an offy POS) has been
built up with epoxy, and then dug out very large! fits a dominater card,
but i had a 750 on it - but soon i will have a well done dominater to use
for mondo cheap also!

so, i ain't been looking anymore.

I hear ya on the money. These things eat it real fast. I see lots of great
deals on Cobra Kit cars for sale in various states of completion. Lost
interest, baby on the way and such. Same with the '53-56 Ford Trucks, even
more so. I have a buddy in CA that makes good money picking up the '53-56
Fords and '55-57 C**vs in project state, finishes them to a nice driver
level and selling for under $10k.

a freind in arizona looking for me. t the plan being, he gets it if its
good enough, and when he moves back here in next few years i go out with
the truck and trailer and pick up the truck, and help him move back. but
he hasn't found the deal that is good enough yet.

This is what I've been told, too. I believe you need the flywheel that

geos with the 302. It's probably a good idea to replace the clutch =
