No article needs to be written since it's well explained in the text and pictures. Since this manual is technically out of print I wouldn't think there would be any legal issures? So even if its had no revisions, the copyright doesn't expire until 2003. Sorry. I want to put in the large valves. I work in a machine shop and can do the machining myself. Can anyone tell me where I can find the specs on the heads? There has to be info on distances and angles somewhere. While I am doing them it is time to put in the hardened seats as they are for the street and are going to run on pump gas. Also any tricks to the combustion chambers and passages to make them flow better. I am not looking for high rpm use ,but rather very good low to mid range torque. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated. Grind out the thermactor bumps in the exhuast ports but don't get carried away, just flaten them out and blend to the port leaving it no lower than the surrounding metal, a tad higher if anything from what I've been hearing. I'll be doing this too next time I take the enigne out for something but I hear it is possible to put a hole in the water jacket or intake port if you get carried away. 78 F-150, 2wd, 460, C-6, 235's "The Ex-Black Hole" 78 Bronco 351M, Np 435, Np 205, 33's "The Black Hole" 78 LIncoln Continental, 460, C-6, 19.5' long! Above the deck?? Is that really what you mean? >ps.-decking the block so the pistons go above the block may be risky as >valve and head clearances decrease alot. Yea......I guess that is what you mean. That's a new one for me, I thought that you had to keep the piston below the deck or it would smack the head. What is the minimum acceptable piston/head clearance assuming stock rods and a reasonable (6K) rpm limit?? later, dale c '79 351M == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of perf-list-digest V1 #72....
