Steve, no they don't come supercharged, packaging it is
a bit of a problem, one outfit puts the supercharger where
the battery is, another runs a shaft supported by pillow
block across the head to the "rear" or bellhousing end,
then mounts the SC there.problem is you have to move
the antilock brake computer to another location.

Personally, I don't see the need for it.......

Ah, the limits of Speed-Density. Did they ever offer Mass-Air on the
460? If they did, that's the one to go with.

As for the original thread, I've never heard of an EFI that didn't have
a computer. I believe that Ford used the EEC-II on the variable-venturi
feedback carb even, then the EEC-III on TBI cars. I'm a little fuzzy on
the years but by '84 the only thing AFAIK that wasn't computer
controlled were the Holley carbed engines. That may be the confusion
here, since I don't think that the Holley carbed Mustangs had one. I
don't know that for certain, anybody?

a local guy here runs an injected 460 street truck, plow truck, and truck
puller. it run real well for a street truck. the word is cam, headers,
rockers, chip, pullys, k&n, maybe some extra compression/head work. idles
like a pussycat, runs like maybe a good 400-425 hp at crank. just an
estimate on my part.

Not to my knowledge. A few years ago I looked into putting an injected 460
in my Bronco for smog Gestapo compliance. It was a fairly simple swap using
the central processor wiring harness but I was unable to find anyone who
had
modified the injected engine. By now someone has probably hacked the chip
to
allow for cam/compression/injector changes, so it might be a viable option
with the computer.

Does anyone know if FORD ever put fuel injection on the 460's without the
computer? I thought they did on the 302 in the mustangs around 85.
