If >anyone has had problems with linkages with a 1" body lift, let me know! I didn't mean you'd have to change anything in the sense that the stock parts won't work, just that the linkages might not work quite like you would expect (ie Park may be Reverse or something equally surprising the first time you start it) because as you lift the body the linkages will pivot (hopefully) and their travel might move just enough to cause some minor adjustments to be needed ... can't guarantee this will happen, but just something to be aware of in the back of your mind. Another issue I just discovered is that the bushings are actually several inches thick, so I might have some serious readjusting to do afterwards! Thanks for the input. If it allows you to keep the site and our lists running as good as they have been all along. And besides, you may put something up there that we will like!!! On a personal note, I ran my 2nd best time ever at the Richmond, VA event for Fun Ford this past weekend. I ran a 14.45 the points standings after this weekend. Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2000 22:35:22 -0400 Ken, I don't like them, but certainly understand why they are there, and can deal with the ads just fine. A few carriage returns before the ad would be nice though. It would allow for easier reading, and seperation of the add from members' signitures at the end of their emails. If this cannot be done, that is OK with me too. Keep up the excellant lists and website. There aren't many sites on the WWW that are of this good quality. Thanks again. Harford, Pa. June 24: Ran the 5,800, and 6,200 lb classes. The competition was very tough at the top 8 or so positions. I pulled my '79 F350 into 5th place in both classes. This was a horsepower track; nice and sticky. I was down on power compared to all that beat me for sure, and I know I beat a few that have bigger (like 600+ cube) motors that make more power than me too. Watching the videos, I can see that I need to do some work to the frame, steering, and the engine still needs some tuning. For a picture from the Kempton pull, the first pull of the year: http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://home.epix.net/~kevkem/puller4.jpg I had placed 6th at that pull, running on only 7 cylinders, and the timing was retarded a bit due to a loose destributer clamp. I want to avoid enforcing limits via the server as it can get annoying when your post is over the limit by one line! Ken ------------------------------ From: Kevin Kemmerer Subject: Re: Truck Pulling Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 13:05:18 -0400 Plug wire came off. Not sure how. I feel I would have got 3rd place that time if I had all 8 firing. In the next class, the 6200 lb class, I broke the transfer case linkage before hooking to the sled. I was unable to get it into 4wd, and couldn't run.
