In the near future, there will be text sponsorship notices at the top of the digests and occasionally we'll run one on the live list for a day. As with the web site banner ads, sponsors will not have influence on content or editorial policy. Hey Steve! It'll be on the top of the digest, and occasionally one will run on the bottom where the current unsubscribe info is (this will be when the client want a quick 1-2 day burst of ads). We'll be working with a 3rd party company to supply them and they insist on having it somewhere around the top. It will be text message. A third party agency will be supplying the sponsorship, therefore editorial influence will be eliminated. I wanted to avoid it, but the combination of the lists eating up 40-50% of the server bandwidth (we pay bandwidth fees) and taking FTE full-time has put us in a bind. It was not an easy decision (I consulted with several list members before doing it). This time its a little different, I'm actually working on the swap and have started a page documenting my "progress" I'll warn you its pretty basic right now, I've been getting setup for it for a while now, just finally got started on it last night. Here's the URL for those interested: http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.public.iastate.edu/~wish/Tech/Steering/steering.html Oh yeah its for the old "assist" style steering on 4x4's to the newer (78/9) "integral" style.
