How hard is it. Are there special tools needed. My C6 has been ailing for a while and I am looking into having it rebuilt or rebuilding it myself. I have never rebuilt a tranny and am looking for insight. >> Paul, Go to this site- TransOnline - the Automotive Transmission Industry Resource . (after reassembly on mine it is SO tight with the assmb. lube i cannot turn it by hand... get a rubber hammer... use all torque specs... there are 2-3 good books out there on c-6's...i found two on ebay.... I completed the tranny rebuild in about 5 hours. thats minus the hot tank time. good luck! josh davis ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Apr 2000 22:26:55 -0700 From: Adam McLaughlin Subject: Grant Steering wheels Who here has tried the grant steering wheels? Do you like them? How was intallation? I am interested in getting on for the "quick disconnect" feature to deter thieves. That reason, and that I thought they look cool. I was not aware of it having a quick disconnect, but I really like it, it's a bit smaller then the usual steering wheel but the circle part is thicker, and it just seems solid. I would have never wasted the money before, but after using one for awhile, now I would spring for one if my car did not have one. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Apr 2000 07:24:40 -0600 From: Steve Randa Subject: Re: Grant Steering wheels I installed one plus their cruise control kit. Couldn't do without that. I don't know what year your truck is but the standard 14" on my '84 landed right in the line of sight to my gauges. I opted for the 15" and have been very pleased. BTW...the steering effort goes up a tad the smaller the wheel. Steve Steve Adam McLaughlin wrote: > > Who here has tried the grant steering wheels? Do you like them? How was > intallation? My 55 has a wood wheel with the security kit and I had a 69 SS 396 Camaro that I also used it on. Works great. Never a problem, easy to take on and off and gives you just a little more security. We are starting to have some problems with car theft at the big shows out here and I am starting to show the truck with the wheel off with the grant cap on. I'll be running this on my truck probably this weekend, but here's the stats I pulled with the car : 0-60 6.65 and when i ran the quarter it was 6.66 qtr. mile 15.2 lateral g's 0.81g peak I ran it last year a bit with a borrowed one from another friend when it was stock, don't remember the qtr, but 0-60 was 7.2.
