The Ford Truck Enthusiasts web chat is back up. The Java VM we're running is a much newer version than the one on our previous server. It should be much more stable. However, as a precautionary measure, it will restart every hour until I'm comfortable with its operation. Ken Payne Admin, Ford Truck Enthusiasts ------------------------------ From: "Joel Thomas" Subject: need information Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2000 22:11:21 -0600 I have a 84 F-150HD SWB 4x4 351W T-18 Dana44TTB 9" rear I am putting on a flat bed replacing my regular bed so I can drag a 5th wheel easier and have more room to haul stuff. my question is. I dont have the funds AT ALL to buy a 1-ton truck at all so please don't say you need to get a bigger truck, because I can't. but my question is I need to know some ways to beef up the frame to have a tougher truck for hauling big loads like a lot of hay(and yes hay does get heavy) and tons of wood and other stuff and I think I need a beefier frame(DO I) I have put on huge load carrying leaf springs that bolt on to the stock springs that helped a whole lot and am considering putting in a 10.25 dually with f-350 springs. But my question is the way to beef it up. I have had the exact same load in my truck and a 85 LWB chevy 4wd and the chevy swayed all over the road and mine stayed easily controlled. bed full of wood and big trailer on back full of wood. so it doesn't sway can I get any help on this?? like making crossmembers and where to put them or anyhting like that ??? thank you, Joel Thomas Little Rock,AR ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2000 11:04:38 -0500 From: Ken Payne Subject: ADMIN: AFTE and Pigeon Forge Lists The AFTE and Pigeon Forge lists are back up. If this bed intrests you we could possibly make a trade or i will sell it. but i am willing to travel for a nice box and if you have one let me know a price and we will go from there. thank you, josh davis ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2000 22:50:33 -0800 From: able office machines Subject: STARTER.... am doing a conversion from a 4x to a C-6 looks like although the starter will "fit" i need a different nose cone.. does anyone have a nose for a starter for an automatic. ?? or interested in a trade or two ???? phil phil ------------------------------ End of perf-list Digest V2000 #3 ******************************** ---------------------------------------------------------- Ford Truck Enthusiasts Performance, Hot-Rod and Custom Truck List Send posts to small-list If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list, send an email to: |
