The Ford Truck Enthusiasts web search is working again.
It's very fast and will search about 200 meg of content
in about 2-5 seconds.

It's been a productive day so far. The Ford Truck
Enthusiasts web chat is back up. The Java VM we're
running is a much newer version than the one on our
previous server. It should be much more stable.
However, as a precautionary measure, it will restart
every hour until I'm comfortable with its operation.

I have a 84 F-150HD SWB 4x4
351W
T-18
Dana44TTB
9" rear

I am putting on a flat bed replacing my regular bed
so I can drag a 5th wheel easier
and have more room to haul stuff.

my question is.
I dont have the funds AT ALL to buy a 1-ton truck at all so please don't say you need to get a bigger truck, because I can't.
but my question is I need to know some ways to beef up the frame to have a tougher truck for hauling big loads like a lot of hay(and yes hay does get heavy)
and tons of wood and other stuff
and I think I need a beefier frame(DO I)
I have put on huge load carrying leaf springs that bolt on to the stock springs that helped a whole lot
and am considering putting in a 10.25 dually
with f-350 springs.
But my question is the way to beef it up.
I have had the exact same load in my truck and a 85 LWB chevy 4wd and the chevy swayed all over the road and mine stayed easily controlled.
bed full of wood and big trailer on back full of wood.

so it doesn't sway

can I get any help on this??
like making crossmembers and where to put them or anyhting like that ???

thank you,
Joel Thomas

Subject: looking for a good truck bed

Ok, this year i shortened the wheelbase on my 79 250 and i am looking for a
good rust free or nearly rust free shortbed years 76-79. it could either be a
syleside or stepside. if its a stepside i will use a 77- to present. also i
have a long box off of a 94 ford that is rust free and in excellent condition
with tail lights and the xlt trim tailgate. If this bed intrests you we could
possibly make a trade or i will sell it. but i am willing to travel for a
nice box and if you have one let me know a price and we will go from there.
thank you,
josh davis
