Then drill the manifold to add fuel injectors, add the fuel rail, fuel regulator fuel pump, supply and return lines, buy dual 70mm throttle bodies from edelbrock, buy a large enough mass air flow meter (contact Proflow at their website) and then buy a eec-iv calibrator so the tables can be modified and then read the web site called sn95.com mustang forum on modifying. The cost about $2800. You could instead by your computer and wiring harness from speedpro. Another good site is Force Fuel injection. Or you could pay someone to do all of this for you and it costs even more. 4)Get a fuel injection system from an late model 460. My only hang ups with this for me was that I couldn't find any late model 460s around St. Louis (I had an unbelieveably hard time locating ANY 460 around St.Louis AND even if I could, there was the head issue. When I was looking for a 460 to rebuild I was also looking at manifolds, Edelbrock says their manifolds don;t fit "late model heads - 87 and later". The new heads Edelbrock is selling also say they don't work for "late models". So it seems like something was done with the "late model" heads. I suppose everything could be stripped off of the late model 460 and put on an earlier model head (i.e drilling the manifold for the injectors) and then some fabrication for the way the throttle body mounts to the old manifold (it is side draft mounted on the fuel injected manifold). Then there is the issue of needing the "7 wire distributer" - this is needed so the ford eec knows where the crank is for timing - this would also be needed to adapt to the mustang system. My money is going to be stripping the throttle body off of the big block GM from 87-92. There is enough info on the Turbo City page to figure out what to do. I also ran across a couple of other aritcles on how to do this - I pass them along later if there is a desire. I hope this was of interest. It's been over six months since I called them and I believe they were located in Michigan, but I'm not sure. I do remember that they didn't have a receptionist and sometimes there was no answer and sometimes the phone was busy for hours. If this sounds like your company, I would keep trying the number & give them lots of time. -- Don > From perf-list-bounce > From: Sleddog > To: "'perf-list > Subject: [perf-list] Re: total performance > Date: Fri, 3 Mar 2000 17:24:46 -0500 > Encoding: 24 TEXT > X-listar-version: Listar v0.128a > Sender: perf-list-bounce > X-original-sender: kevkem > Reply-to: perf-list > X-list: perf-list > Content-Type: text > Content-Length: 909 > > Sorry. The radiator for my 2.9 has taken a turn for the worse, and I need to replace it. The explorer 4.0 radiator makes a good swap. There are two kinds, one with a transmission cooler and one without. The price difference is about $55. Now, if I get the radiator with the transmission cooler, would this be 302-V8 friendly? I called Advanced Adaptors, and they said that this has been known to be done, but no one has ever given them any feedback on it. Any ideas welcome...
