3.50 means the drive shaft turns 3.5 times for every 1 time the tires turn. This
is a 'in the middle' ratio. A 4.10:1 (of 4.10 t 1) would be low. I use a 3.25:1
with my 351M and I like it very much (17 mpg average/21 highway & still smokes
Z-28's). I have a lower 3.75:1 with my 351SVO, but it has an AOD.

Harry.

So from what I understand there could different codes indicating =
different possible problems. How about if I do a trial and error test, =
replace the EGR and hope this does the trick. Or, should I pay to have =
the dealer do another diagnostic. To tell you the truth I would rather =
not take it to the dealer because that last time I was there they said =
the reason for the hesitation was low fuel pressure. =20

I have dual tanks on this truck, switched to the other tank and had the =
same problem. I thought " its got to be the fuel filter". Replaced =
it, same problem. I thought " its got to be both fuel pumps going bad =
at the same time ? Changed one of them, still the same problem. Hence =
my reluctance to return to my dealer. I'm not bashing them I'm just =
gun shy and out of money at this point.

Is there some other device in the fuel system that could be causing low =
pressure, boosters maybe. My truck has a 155" wheel base. Lots of =
distance for a small electric pump.

Should I just pay for another code check. Anyone know any good places =
to go in Los Angeles area?

Thanks, Phil Conrad

Phil Conrad,
Are you getting any codes with the KOEO, continuous codes, or
dynamic response codes?

Is there any way I can verify that I have an RV cam installed? I assume
from your lack of comment that there are no tune-up considerations
involved; ie. the timing and point-gap spark-plug gap all stay the same
as stock. Is that correct? Thanks for your help.

Hey everyone! The survey results are in!

I'm planning on putting this on the web page and having new
subscribers fill in a survey so we know exactly what trucks
are represented. As you can see from the results just about
every truck and model is covered. The old T & As aren't
represented, not surprized with that - they've kinda have
completely different issues to deal with.

Here you go, its long but I think most of you will find it
very informative....
