I have a small pit and four cracks (like an X) about 1/2 inch across on my 99 Ranger windshield. Do I need to be concerned about this ? Will it get worse if I take no action ? Thanks ------------------------------ From: "davidl" Subject: Re: Ranger Windshield Question Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2000 12:16:13 -0500 if you check with the local windshield replacement companies some of them do repairs on stone chips. they work very well. But you need to get it done NOW or it will be to big to fix and you will have to replace the glass. insurance should pick up the 35 to 50 dollars it cost. they like that better then the 350 to replace in most cases. and it is cheap enough to pay out of your pocket if need be. It will not take much to make it crack the rest of the way know. In the near future, there will be text sponsorship notices at the top of the digests and occasionally we'll run one on the live list for a day. As with the web site banner ads, sponsors will not have influence on content or editorial policy. Has anyone used rod ends such as the ones in the four wheel magazine for tie rod ends and such? Are Grade 8 bolts stronger than the stud on regular tie rod ends? What about some welding tips? Looks like they also use "heavy-wall DOM or chrome moly tubing". Is chrome moly harder to weld than regular tube? Is the regular tubing strong enough? I need a track bar and drag link but if I could make them all the better? Hey Steve! It'll be on the top of the digest, and occasionally one will run on the bottom where the current unsubscribe info is (this will be when the client want a quick 1-2 day burst of ads). We'll be working with a 3rd party company to supply them and they insist on having it somewhere around the top. It will be text message. A third party agency will be supplying the sponsorship, therefore editorial influence will be eliminated. I wanted to avoid it, but the combination of the lists eating up 40-50% of the server bandwidth (we pay bandwidth fees) and taking FTE full-time has put us in a bind. It was not an easy decision (I consulted with several list members before doing it).
