Yeah, I completely removed the bed earlier today. So, no bed. You are
right, I do mean shackle flip, I am going to the compression style. As
well I am using another set of the spring hanger typically found at the
front of the rear spring to hold the shackle. I just picked up an extra
pair at the junkyard for cheap.
Some updates too, I found some holes in the frame that worked
perfect for helping me align the front-rear spring brackets. So I used
those and mounted the hangers I had. I'm going to try this out. If it all
works out well and I decide to keep it, my truck is going to have about a
103" wheelbase. I'm going to get it all set and drive able and drive it
for a good while before I go and chop off the rear of the frame.
So, think I'm going too short. I dunno, but it all seems to be
going together so well, I'm hoping it keeps up and works out good. Of
course I'll be hating myself for doing this the first time I roll the
vehicle. I took some measurements and it looks like this will have my rear
driveshaft in the 39" range, how does that sound. Ok, see you all later.
