ADMIN: I'm back ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "David Wilkins" Subject: keenly following the BII buildup Date: Fri, 25 Feb 2000 11:23:08 -0500 I have been keenly following the BII buildup here, and I have a question of my own. My 89 BII has the Mitsubishi tranny, and it is 99% dead. I expect any time now it will explode and need replacing. I am curious as to whether anyone on the list has tried swapping our POS tranny out with the stronger T5 tranny that Advance Adapters offers. I am considering this because I hate the thoughts of simply replacing a bad tranny with another identical weak tranny, if the T5 is any better. Especially since I plan on really building it up (read 5.0) for hardcore trailriding/mountain climbing. Anyone have any thoughts on this subject??? Now in all fairness to them I had a 97 F-150 so maybe they have one for your application. Date: Fri, 25 Feb 2000 16:39:00 -0500 Hi, I have a 1989 Ford F150 4x4 300 L6 , 4sp/OD. It came stock with 3.08 gears. I'm now running 33-12.50-15 BFG AT's and I want to replace the factory gears with between a 3.50-3.73 gear ratio. Does any one have any suggestions about what gear ratio I should use and how it will affect my ride? Thanks, Nelson ....
