Also, what is the best option for the bed, Rhino spray, Duraliner insert, etc. They all say they are the best. If anybody has purchased or has had experience with a SuperDuty 172" WB long 4X4 CrewCab, I would like to hear about some of the problems that you noticed and your advise to avoid those problems. Also, if anyone has a 2001 Model year similar to mine, have you had any trouble with it or are there any poorly designed functional items on the truck? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The order is in and now it is just a matter of time. Thank you for your time. I just want to be prepared. Keith ------------------------------ From: "joel taylor" <taylorjn Subject: 5.4 head gasket leak question Date: Tue, 20 Mar 2001 00:17:15 Hey guys. Does anyone know if there was a tsb # put out for the leak on the back of the engine? Also, if anyone has the number for the piston slap problem they would be extremely helpful. I have to go fight with the dealership Wednesday. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Joel Taylor The 5.4 engine, if you've been watching the ford-enthusiats page, is plagued with oil leaks. Being a 99, you might want to watch for the passenger side head leaking oil out of the rear of the gasket. The gasket is the big problem. Also, some of the 5.4's on cold startup, exhibit a slight knocking sound, which in time may escaelate into a fulltime rodnock. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ End of 97up-list Digest V2001 #38 ********************************* Performance Computer Chips for your Ford at discount prices! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Ford Truck Enthusiasts offers Superchips and Diablo performance computer chips for your Ford vehicle!
