Ian,

I doubt the purpose of aftermarket chips is to improve fuel economy.  More
likely is, IMHO, that they are intended as performance enhancers.  The stock
chip is probably about as good as it gets for economy.

Of course for REAL economy throttle pressure minimizers (light foot pressure)
seem to work better than anything else. ;=)
