In the mornings there are times when it has no power. I cannot go any faster than 40 mph until something happens. I can hear a slight hiss from behind the firewall on the passenger side. It has no power for a short time and then something happens and it has full power. Feels like a relay kicks in or out or a sensor activates. I have had it to the shop 4 times and they tell me it is normal. The truck has 36,000 miles on it and it did not do this for the first 30,000 miles so it is not normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sounds like the preheater valve in the exhaust is stuck closed. This is the same valve that the Western Diesel Turbo Brake uses. It is supposed to help your motor warm up more quickly. However, if its stuck closed, it would be like driving a gas engine with a blocked converter. My '99 equipped with the Turbo Brake hisses like mad when its on... Glen ------------------------------ From: "Ian R. Poyntz" <poyntz Subject: Tires for F250 light duty Date: Tue, 7 Nov 2000 18:02:20 -0800 The (No)Goodyear 245 75R16 tires that came on my 1999 F250 LD; SB; 4X4; 5.4v8 are out of round and causing imbalance. I am thinking of replacing them with a Toyo tire either a: Toyo Transpath s/u 265 75R16 or; Toyo M-606 245 75R16 Has anyone got any opinions of Toyo tires? Are the Michelin tires better? Will changing from a 245 to a 265 size tire affect: gas mileage or performance? Thanks, Ian... CLICK HERE TO REPLY: poyntz ATTITUDE IS CONTAGIOUS...
